Heya,
So this week I want to talk about email addresses. Your email address says a lot about you and is one of the first thing people look at when they open your email. Professionalism is so important when it comes to every email you send. You don’t want people to judge you before they even open your email so here are some tips for professional emails:
1. Use your college/high school email if you have one: School emails are really simple. They prove professionalism because they show that you attend a school and take your education seriously.
2. Use your name: If you are using another email use one with your name in it: It is really simple to just use your first and last name as a email address. If your name is overused maybe add numbers or just use your middle name to make it more personal. I often use email address names like amandajpcr, amandajcross, or amandajpcross depending on how I feel.
3. Don’t email professionals with joejonaslover95: You may have gone through a Joe Jonas stage when you were a tweenager, but keep that out of professional emails. It’s hard to take that username seriously.
4. Keep email addresses appropriate: Leave the sexual innuendos at home. This is not an email address to use for a personal ad, this is a possible college contact; career; or internship. The people answering your email may be older than you, but they are in no way dumb to the words in your email address. They understand a lot more than you give them credit for.
Bottom line when it comes to emails that you send out to people, make it appropriate and professional. You want people to take your requests seriously and get back to you as soon as possible. Just like people judge you based on your facebook profile, they will judge you based on your email address.
Stay Classy,
Amanda C.

Today is my one year anniversary of getting my first article published on University Chic so I wanted to post a round up of all the articles I published on U Chic.
***Was a roundup of many different reviews from a few chicsters, so it didn’t just feature me. So all in all I have published 27 articles on U Chic by myself.
I wrote this blog post for University Chic and I wanted to share it with you all. Before you write off living in an all-girls residence hall consider this.
In today’s world, college-aged students are wanting to get more and more involved with world issues. College is a great place to stimulate intellectual and personal growth, but not everyone is luck…
My latest article on The Prospect where I talk about the awesome alternative education program Americorps!
So for now on Paper Monday’s are going to transform into Flexible Mondays, because I realize I don’t have a ton of short papers, and Tumblr only allows 10 photos per set so the rest of my papers would be kind of too long for it. Also the rest of my papers are kind of super serious…so it wouldn’t really work well. This is a video of my favorite books about college life, and I spend a lot of time talking about U Chic, 3E the book I am in too. If you want a video preview before you buy it I go through all the sections and talk about them a little. I also talk about a bunch of other books. Flexible Mondays will always be something worth viewing. I will not cheat you on the content in these post trust me. This video is 7 and a half minutes! I hope you enjoy!
